Family Stories
Children have a wonderful way of turning ordinary days into adventures. One minute you are looking for sticks in the forest, the next you are building dens, chasing waves or stopping for cinnamon buns because nobody can agree on where to go next.
Those are the days I love photographing.
My family sessions are not about standing in a field smiling at the camera. They are about spending time together while I quietly document the story unfolding around you.
Based in Stockholm, I photograph families across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and beyond.
Your family, your kind of day.
Forget asking children to stand still and smile for an hour.
We will explore the woods, wander along the coast, enjoy the city, stop for fika, build dens, hunt for shells or simply spend time together at home. The location isn't the focus; it's the backdrop to your family doing what your family does.
Every session is different because every family is different.
Photographs that grow more valuable with time.
The photographs that become favourites are rarely the ones you expected.
It's the missing tooth.
The muddy knees.
The way your daughter reaches for your hand without thinking.
The look your son gives you when he's about to tell a joke.
The family dog insisting on being in every frame.
None of these things seem important on the day, but they're often the photographs that mean the most years later.
Family photography across Stockholm and Scandinavia.
Whether you are looking for a family photographer in Stockholm, planning a session during your holiday in Sweden, or visiting Norway or Denmark, I will happily travel to wherever your story is unfolding.
I photograph families in forests, mountains, beaches, city streets and cosy homes because the best location is simply the one that feels like yours.
Choose the Session That Feels Most Like You
Family Sessions
Every family is different, which is why I offer a few different ways to tell your story. Whether you feel most at home in your own kitchen, exploring the forest, or wrapped up in blankets on a windswept beach, we will choose a session that reflects your family rather than trying to fit you into someone else's idea of what family photography should look like.
At Home Stories
There is something special about being photographed in the place where your family simply exists.
The hallway scattered with shoes, pancakes on a Sunday morning, building dens in the living room, baking together or reading stories before bedtime. These are the details that quietly become part of your family's history.
My at-home sessions are photographed in a documentary style, gently observing rather than directing. I will guide you when it's needed, but mostly I will allow the day to unfold naturally while I photograph the connections, routines and little moments that make your home uniquely yours.
Perfect for families with young children, newborns, or anyone wanting photographs that feel deeply personal.
Outdoor Stories
Not every family session needs perfect weather.
Some of my favourite photographs have been made on crisp autumn mornings, windswept beaches, snowy forests and spring afternoons when everyone came home with muddy boots.
We will choose a location that suits your family, whether that's your favourite woodland walk, the Stockholm archipelago, a mountain trail, your local park or somewhere that simply means something to you.
These sessions are relaxed and lightly guided, allowing plenty of space for children to explore, play and be themselves. Rather than asking everyone to look at the camera, I'll focus on documenting the interactions that happen naturally as you spend time together.
A Day Together
Sometimes an hour or two simply isn't enough.
If you would like your gallery to tell a fuller story, we can spend longer together, following your family through a morning at home before heading outdoors, visiting your favourite café, or simply slowing down and documenting your day as it unfolds.
These sessions create a rich collection of photographs that feel more like a family documentary than a traditional photoshoot.
Film Photography
If you love the character of analogue photography, you can add a roll of 35mm film to any family session.
Film has a softness and unpredictability that's difficult to recreate digitally. Every frame is carefully considered, creating a collection of photographs that sit beautifully alongside your digital gallery.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I'm based in Stockholm and photograph families throughout Sweden & Norway. Sessions can take place in your home, at your favourite beach, in the forest, the Stockholm Archipelago, or anywhere that feels special to your family. If you have a location in mind, I would love to hear about it.
-
Perfect! I don't expect them to.
The best family photographs rarely happen when children are asked to sit quietly and smile at the camera. They are usually climbing rocks or collecting sticks, or making everyone laugh. I work around your children rather than expecting them to perform, which makes the session feel much more relaxed for everyone.
-
Choose something that feels like you. Neutral, earthy tones and comfortable clothing photograph beautifully, but the most important thing is that everyone feels comfortable. Once you've booked, I'll send you a guide with helpful tips and outfit ideas if you would like a little inspiration.
-
Every family is different, so I don't watch the clock too closely. Most sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes, giving everyone plenty of time to settle in without feeling rushed.
-
Rather than working to a fixed number, I focus on telling the story of your session. You will receive a carefully edited gallery with all the photographs that best capture your family and the time we spent together.
-
Your gallery is usually ready within 2–3 weeks. Every image is individually edited and delivered through a private online gallery where you can download your high-resolution photographs and order professional prints if you would like.
-
Absolutely. Family means different things to different people, and everyone is welcome. Grandparents, dogs and other important members of your family are always invited to be part of the session.
-
Scandinavian weather has a mind of its own! If the conditions are not right for the session we have planned, we can simply rearrange to another date. If it's just a little windy or overcast, we will often continue as planned. Some of my favourite photographs have been taken on days that weren't perfectly sunny.
-
Every family is different, so I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all package. Once I know a little more about your family and the type of session you are looking for, I can recommend the best option and send you a personalised quote with everything clearly explained.
-
Simply get in touch through my contact form and tell me a little about your family, where you are based and the kind of session you are looking for. From there, we will arrange a date, choose the perfect location and start planning your family story together.
